For some time now this site has been a quiet directory of apps — practice texts, study aids and readers offered freely to practitioners. The apps will remain the heart of it. This journal adds a place for words about the work.
What to expect here Three kinds of notes will appear in this space:
- Announcements — when a new app or translation is released, or an existing one gains a significant feature, it will be described here.
- Notes on the texts — background on the cycles and texts behind the apps: where a practice comes from, who revealed or composed it, and what a reader might want to know before opening it.
- Notes on the craft — occasional reflections on the practical work of interpreting and translating.
- Some occasional rambling. The rare connoisseur will find more of such experimental material, discretely tucked away on the page.
On the translations
The translations behind these apps are published by various Yeshe Khorlo centers under the direction of H.E. Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche. The apps themselves — and everything written here — are offered freely, as a service to practitioners. If you wish to support the ongoing and upcoming projects - a donation button can be found within the apps or here. If something in an app seems wrong, or a feature would genuinely help your practice or study, write to translation@arybszleger.com.
